General questions about Coaching

  • Coaching is a partnership, aimed at success and fulfillment, whatever this may be for you! It is an individually structured period of time, during which you will learn where you are, what drives you, where you want to go and what you need to do in order to get there. Coaching is not a fix and ready-to-use recipe for life! A good coach leads you to your very own success and fulfillment not through answers but through questions. “The right question is more powerful than a thousand answers!”

  • Coaching is usually intended as one-to-one, whereas training is in small or large groups. Consulting can be seen as business-coaching which is company-specific, but where more than just one person can be involved.

Coaching and consulting may use similar strategies at times, but essentially coaching and training is people-based and aims mainly at personal development, while consulting is company-based and aims at business excellence. We strongly believe that in order to have a successful business or a fulfilling job – more than your technical skills, which are taken for granted – you need to have a strong, driven and powerful personality. From a business perspective it is our goal that your company's "personality" also becomes the same way!

Hence coaching and consulting both give you tools, systems and strategies for success. The first one aimed mainly (but not only) at personal success, whilst the latter one is aimed the success of your company or business.

  • How do you decide whether to try something new if you don't know the outcome for sure? As long as there is no risk of significant harm, you're usually better off trying something new in order to then judge for yourself whether it was what you expected or not. The same goes for coaching. You'll find people who are indifferent to it, many who haven't tried it because they "heard" something "bad" about it, and many of those who tried it, it literally changed their life!

What do you think you would be able to achieve if you had someone that would guide you? What do you expect a coach can do for you? Do you think you're already living your full potential? Think back of those times in life where you landed your biggest deals, where you made the biggest improvements, when you achieved your highest goals... Did you do it on your own or did you have a coach, trainer, mentor, friend, colleague giving you guidance in some way?

If you feel like you want a catalyst for success, if you feel like you want to get there faster, with less effort and fewer sacrifices, if you know that there is a great potential in you, which needs to be discovered or empowered, if you want an exciting and fulfilled life and "average" or "normal" just doesn't cut it for you... then, what are you waiting for?

  • The choice of a coach or trainer is very personal. Ask yourself what you would expect from your coach, what do you expect him/her to elicit within yourself and what do you expect to learn and master thanks to the help of a coach. It is best to try to meet your coach in person and rely on your gut-feeling, rather than some rational explanation of why a coach should or shouldn't be right for you.

Please note that a coach doesn't necessarily have to be similar in personality to you. When you're looking for an ideal partner in a relationship, it is usually beneficial to share interests and character traits. In the case of a coach it can be beneficial to have opposites, in order to really challenge your current ways of thinking, your status-quo. Don't be afraid to ask even the most intimate or so-called "inappropriate" questions to your coach, if you can't do that, how can you build a fertile ground for massive growth? Ask all of your questions to Diego De Nicola now, and find out yourself if he is the right coach for you!

  • Although this is not a question per se, it is a very common assumption. Unfortunately, there are still many people who believe coaching is what you need when you have no other way out. This couldn't be more wrong! You do not need coaching in order to achieve "the basics", the average, a "normal" life. Common sense and diligence will get you there undoubtedly.

Coaching is for those who want to take their lives to the next level! For those who want to live an exciting life, who want to achieve things they didn't dare to even dream before. Coaching is for those who understand that life is continuous change, perpetual growth and a real adventure.

No matter how happy or fulfilling your current life is... there is always a step up. But should we really always and constantly keep aiming for more? Isn't that in itself a recipe for unhappiness and a sort of ungratefulness? Quite the opposite! Ungratefulness is accepting what you have as being yours for eternity. Be grateful for what you have by appreciating it and making it the basis of your future achievements. Life – like anything in nature – develops based on merely two forces: growth and decay. Stagnation does not exist. Hence no matter where you are in life today, you have to make a choice. Are you willing to keep growing or do you accept your decline?

Finally, why would the best of the best in any field of expertise, from business to sports, without exception, always work closely with a coach? Even when they have been the untouched and undefeated number 1 for years? Think about it.

Specific questions about Diego

  • This is a question best answered by yourself. What do you expect from a coach? Where do you want to go? Do you believe Diego De Nicola can help you get there? Make a list of questions and discuss your expectations, then decide for yourself if Diego De Nicola is right for you. In personal relationships – and coaching is a personal relationship on a professional level – it is best if you let your emotions and gut-feeling speak, not a pro's and con's list or some rational explanation. So don't hesitate to contact us and decide for yourself or read what other people think of Diego.

  • Seminars are a good way to give you a set of strategies or present new ways of thinking and acting. But they usually do not yield sustainable development. After few days or weeks at most, your routine and old habits kick in and all accumulated determination and motivation is gone!

For this reason Diego De Nicola advocates the benefit of an extended process as opposed to a seminar. If you sign-up for one of the success and development processes you can expect to be in a small group of 10-20 people, meeting in regular intervals of 1-2 months and you will not just be told what to do, but you will actually be walking the way, while being coached. Diego De Nicola accompanies such groups usually through a duration of maximum one year. Changes and improvements will be immediate after every session, but they will also be lasting and fully locked-in, so you can reap great benefits for the rest of your life!
